WHAT'S'AT? A HIGH-COO?
A haiku is a Japanese poem of 5, 7, & 5 syllables in 3 lines.
Modern American haiku are . . . whatever, but still in 3 lines.

Chuckling monkeys
Watching us feed them their food
Are pretty darn smart
Massive bodies though
Fearsome to gaze up upon
Elephants seek peace
Friendships are pointless
When the companions of it
Will no longer kiss
Peacocks sound like cats
And are just as evil too
Their shrills are deadly
Such horrible jokes
They challenge and tease my thoughts
Though I just crave love
Lonely little birds
Will suffer tragically when
They are left to cry
Maybe when the man
Falls asleep with weary woe
Peace will be ended
Waiting in the wind
For an uplifting spirit
For my memories
From a better view
A perspective upside-down
Life seems much more clear
Funny how angry
One simple man can make you
Just by his speaking
When I lost this bet
I did not image he
Would be serious
To sing in front of
A great enormous folk crowd
With a trembling tongue
In order to cheat
Nature will certainly see
And will take notice
Telling the secret
Benefits no one if they
Will quickly tell two
Little gray angels
Whistles growing sharp and long
Mistaken demons
As another leaf
Falls and drifts and flies and soothes
The pile forgets it
Black and white stripes that
Will race in open grasslands
Sucky camouflage
Peeking out their shells
Wondering what world surrounds
Happy to stay safe
Finally the night
Whispers, comforts, and covers
All of the day's woes
It's an incentive
To disguise true loyalty
And to be selfish
To end with something
As holy as a mermaid
Brings tears to the eyes
WHAT'S'AT? A HIGH-COO?
